The Promise of Latinx Leadership in the Central District

  • Event name: The Promise of Latinx Leadership in the Central District
  • Theme: a celebration/discussion of Latinx leadership in the Central District and public service generally.
  • The event will be cohosted by the DOJ and FPD for the Central District of California and USC Gould’s faculty lounge in Room 433 will serve as the venue.


The event will proceed as follows:

  • Attorney from FPD will give a short introduction and explanation of the event programming, recognizing of sponsors etc.
  • Antonia Hernandez – Will give a short speech, roughly ~10-15 minutes in length, on the topic of Latinx leadership and participation in public service generally.
  • Panel - Moderated by one AUSA and one public defender from each office, alternating asking questions to the panel of Cuauhtemoc Ortega, PSG, and E. Martin Estrada. Our questions would take at least  40-45 minutes and leave approximately 15 minutes for questions from the audience.
  • Attorney from DOJ will give closing remarks, final recognition of sponsors/panelists/speaker, transitioning us to cocktail hour/networking event.
  • Cocktail hour/networking event -  7:00-8:00 where beverages and food are served and panelists + local attorneys interact with audience and students for the remainder of the event.
